queer spirit: june 08 gathering: dean pappas
art space

Dean writes: I am planning experiential art-making activities that will combine self identity and individual spirituality with group identity and group spirituality through a variety of expressive art and journaling techniques including the creation of murals, mandalas, masks, and talismans.

Together we will each create a combined mandala, which is a spiritual symbol from our drawings. After that, we each will have a wooden board and a hunk of clay, and we will make a symbolic self-portrait out of the clay. The self-portraits will then be placed on the mandala. Our goal is to play with our intuitive processes and find the symbolism within. No experience needed, and it'll be lots of fun!

The art experiences Dean coordinates allow for individual or group activities, and can produce profound life-altering insights.
